How To Take A Backup Of Your Samsung Mobile Phone's Data Using Samsung Kies

It is very important to know how you can use Samsung Kies program to save a backup of all your Samsung mobile phone's data like contacts, Messages, Call log and much more.

Why and When you need to make this backup?
As you may know that Samsung mobile phones and tablets has a very fast updates, And in case you want to stay up to date, Then updating the firmware version of your device could be a very hard work when you have a lot of saved data. And here the Samsung Kies can give you the best solution, It can backup almost everything from your phone and save it for you to restore it after the update, So it will be a very easy mission to update your device whenever there is a new firmware version.

Backup Steps:

- First Download Samsung Kies software in case your don't have it yet.
- Install it and restart your computer.
- Connect your Samsung mobile phone to the computer using the USB cable.
- Wait until Windows detects it and installs the needed drivers for it.
- When Kies program detects your Samsung device you will see some Basic information about yours, Like Device name and memory ..etc.
- Now click on Back up / Restore tab.
- Select what data you want to back up ( Contacts, Call Log, Music, Photos...etc).
- Click on Back up button.
- Wait until Kies program finishes the back up, Then click Complete button.
- Done

Restore a Backup Steps:

- Connect your Samsung mobile phone to the computer using the USB cable.
- When Kies program detects your Samsung device you will see some Basic information about yours, Like Device name and memory ..etc.
- Now click on Back up / Restore tab.
- Click Restore on button.
- When you get the warning message click Continue.
- Select the backup file you want to restore, Then click Next.
- Select what data you want to restore from the saved backup ( Contacts, Call Log, Music, Photos...etc), Then click Next.
- When Samsung Kies finishes the restore process you can click on Complete button.
- Your device will be rebooted.
- After your device is on again you can check that all your data is restored.

How To Update Samsung S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2 Firmware Using Odin Flasher

Updating the firmware version of you mobile phone is a very important operation to stay up to date with any new firmware error fixing and bug repairing, And the Samsung S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2 firmware update process is a most wanted one too, So you can do the job by yourself without waiting or buying any expensive tool at all, In this guide we used a very simple steps to perform this update, So all you have to do is reading, Understanding and applying.

Samsung S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2 Firmware Update Stpes:
- Turn off the phone and take out any SIM card or memory card.
- Run Odin.exe program.
- Check these options: Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, F.Reset Time.
- Click PIT button and select: skomerxx_121217.pit
- If you have a complete firmware package of Samsung S7710 then you will see 2 files inside (PDA + CSC):

Click PDA button and select: CODE_S7710xxxxxx_..._REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Click CSC button and select: CSC_Oxx_S7710Oxxxxxx_..._REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5

- Put your Samsung S7710 into Download Mode:

Press and Hold Volume Down key + Home key + Power key

- Use the USB cable to connect the device to your Computer.
- Wait for a while until Windows detects the device and installs its drivers.
- Look at Odin's window and if you see the COM port number of the connected device (0:[COMxx]) then everything is ok.
- Click Start button, And Odin will install the new firmware files into your device.
- During the update process do not try to disconnect the USB cable or stop the operation for any reason.
- After the update is done your phone will reboot.
- If you see PASS! Word at Odin's window then the update was successfully done.
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- When the phone is fully on try to do a hard reset by this code *#87976633#
- The phone will reboots one more time, So wait for it.
- Now your Samsung S7710 Galaxy Xcover 2 is up to date, Enjoy your well done job.

Notices:
- After the update you can restore your data backup again (Read How to do it here).
- In case you get one big file (PDA) inside the firmware package then no need to check or use any PIT file, And select that file as PDA.

How To Hard Reset / Factory Reset Samsung I8150 Galaxy W - Key Combination Method

How to Update Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T311 with Android 4.2.2 XWUANC1 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

 

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 with 3G connectivity (SM-T311) has received a new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update with firmware build number T311XWUANC1. The new official firmware is now available as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update as well as through Samsung KIES.

Firmware details
PDA: T311XWUANC1
CSC: T311OLBANC1
MODEM: T311DXUAMK1
Version: Android 4.2.2
Build date: Mar 07, 2014
Regions: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T311 users who missed the OTA update notification or unable to access the update over Samsung KIES, may follow our step-by-step guide to install the update manually.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 on the computer.
2. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the device by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
3. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
4. Ensure the battery of the device is charged more than 80 percent.
5. The Android 4.2.2 XWUANC1 Jelly Bean firmware is compatible only with the 3G version of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T311). Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Files Required
1. Android 4.2.2 XWUANC1 Jelly Bean Firmware (Mirror Link)
2. Odin 3.07

Steps to Update Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T311 with Android 4.2.2 XWUANC1 Jelly Bean Firmware 
Step 1: Extract Firmware zip file using WinRAR/7-Zip/WinZip or any other extracting tool, you will get a .tar.md5 file and some other files (optional).
Step 2: Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe along with few other files.
Step 3: Switch off the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.
Step 4: Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Homeand Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on screen. Now press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Run Odin on the computer as an Administrator.
Step 6: Connect the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn to light blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Step 7: Select the following files in Odin from extracted T311XWUANC1 firmware folder:

  • Click the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file.
  • Click the Phone button and select file with MODEM in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the CSC button and select file with CSC in its name. Ignore if there is no such file.
  • Click the PIT button and select the .pit file. Ignore if there is no such file.
Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the Startbutton to begin the installation process.
Step 10: Once the installation process is completed, your device will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from the computer.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T311 should be now updated with Android 4.2.2 XWUANC1 Jelly Bean official firmware. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Note: If Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T311 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. In recovery mode use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select the option. Please note, performing wiping task will erase your device internal memory data and not external SD card data.
